Email Your MP to oppose the sale of Channel 4

DCMS has launched a consultation into the ownership of Channel 4, with privatisation the Government’s preferred option. The consultation is happening at the same time as a  Government review into the future of public service broadcasting and the role of streaming giants in the UK market.

Channel 4 is a major success story, a financially successful broadcaster that supports thousands of jobs as well as a thriving independent production sector – and at no cost to the taxpayer.

With the consultation closing in September, it seems clear that the Government wants to make a quick sale. It is vital that we demonstrate opposition to such a move as quickly and loudly as possible.

You can help by writing to your MP and asking them to make clear to Oliver Dowden that they want to keep Channel 4 in public hands.
