Email your MP to support excluded creatives
Despite issuing repeated warnings since March, there are still thousands of freelance and self-employed creatives who are excluded from accessing government support schemes.
With the schemes set to run until the end of March, we are working with other unions and campaigners to increase the pressure on the government to make changes to the schemes and come up with a long term plan for supporting our industries.
Bectu recently wrote a new joint letter to the Chancellor together with the other creative unions, ExcludedUK and other pressure groups, politicians and business groups, calling for changes to be made. We have also produced a briefing paper for MPs in which we make a series of practical demands that would make a significant difference for many Bectu members.
Now we need you.
As Christmas approaches, we need your help to raise the stakes. Please write to your MP, amending the template provided to describe your own circumstances and the impact on you and your local area.
Many of you will already have done so and we cannot thank you enough, but the government cannot hear this message enough times so please consider writing again.
