Email your MP to show your support for self-employed workers

On Thurs 26 March the government unveiled the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme, a set of measures aimed at providing financial support for the freelancers affected by Covid-19.

While it does cover many sole traders it still does not cover all self-employed and freelance workers and adjustments are needed to make sure that nobody is left behind during such difficult times.

As a union representing thousands of these workers in creative sector and beyond, Bectu and parent union Prospect have been fighting for a fair deal for self-employed workers and freelancers.

We need your support.

Please enter your postcode below and use the ‘Email your MP’ tool to tell your MP that the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme needs to be changed to include those who are casual PAYE contractors, people working through limited and personal service companies and that the £50,000 upper threshold in the scheme is difficult to justify when there is no equivalent for employees.

Together we can make sure no workers are left behind while we fight Coronavirus.
